About the project

Mimi is an iOS app that helps parents understand their baby's sleep patterns. New parents are constantly exhausted and confused about what's normal — is the baby sleeping enough? Why is the schedule all over the place? Mimi brings clarity to the chaos by tracking naps and bedtime, spotting patterns, and giving parents the data they need to feel more confident.

Built with React Native and Expo, the app turns scattered sleep logs into insights. It's designed for sleep-deprived parents who don't have time for complicated tracking tools but need to make sense of their baby's sleep.

Key objectives

1. Simplify sleep tracking: Create a frictionless way for parents to log naps and bedtime without thinking, designed for the reality of parenting (interrupted thoughts, one hand holding a baby).

2. Surface meaningful patterns: Help parents identify sleep trends at a glance — when does the baby sleep best? How much total sleep are they getting? Is something changing?

3. Reduce parental anxiety: Transform confusion into data. When parents can see patterns, they feel less alone in the uncertainty of early parenthood.

4. Build with empathy for context: Design for real conditions — low battery, poor lighting, interrupted attention — because the user might be doing this at 3 AM with one hand.

5. Demonstrate human-centered design: Show how the best products come from deeply understanding your user's actual situation, not just their stated needs.
